This Sonnax high-performance pump slide spring for GM 6L80 and 6L90 transmissions helps maintain consistent pump volume during line rise and at high-RPM operation.

In high-performance applications at high engine speeds, increased pressure and centrifugal force on the pump vanes act to center the pump slide, reducing pump volume and limiting maximum pressure. In high-performance applications, it is critical to maintain maximum pump volume in order to hold line pressure and prevent clutch failure. The Sonnax spring is stiffer than OE and is able to hold the pump slide in a maximum-volume position, despite increased pressure and high engine speed in performance applications.
