Cause:
Wear at different areas of the solenoid modulator valve lineup can result in high or low pressure and associated complaints.

Correction:
The Sonnax wear-resistant sleeve and valve correct circuit pressure loss and restore control over solenoid modulator valve function.


High and/or low pressure in the solenoid modulator circuits of listed VW/Audi, Mini and Aisin AW units can cause DTCs and drivability complaints. Wear at the inboard end causes excessive feed pressure. This floods the solenoids and reduces reaction time, resulting in harsh shifting and high line pressure. Wear at outboard and mid-section reduces solenoid modulator pressure, which has the most effect on engagements and boost oil for line pressure rise.

  • The hard-coat anodized aluminum valve resists wear and has added annular grooves for better centering in the bore
  • The highly wear-resistant sleeve and lengthened front valve spool provide 75% more sealing contact area
