MANUAL VALVE (F4A22/23/33)

Symptoms:

  • Pump bushing spin-out
  • Converter hub bushing spin-out
  • Lube failures
  • No cooler flow in Park
  • Delayed engagement
  • Overheated converte

Cause:
Line pressure exhausts and does not charge the converter when the selector lever is in park.

Correction:
This manual valve blocks line circuit oil from exhausting to the sump, increases converter charge pressure in Park, and also redirects exhaust flow and reduces sump cavitation.


Many KM series Mitsubishi transmissions experience loss of converter charge and cooler flow in Park. This often creates delayed engagement in cold conditions. The end result is seen as lube failures, pump or converter hub bushing spin-out and/or converter overheating. These complaints are generally caused by line pressure exhausting and not charging the converter when the selector lever is in park. Sonnax offers redesigned manual valve.

  • Manual valve blocks some line circuit oil from exhausting to the sump, which increases converter charge pressure in park

Note:
Not recommended for some Hyundai applications. Do not use with .218 (5.5mm) ball in pump. Valve is calibrated to work with all units with.312 (8mm) ball in pump.
