Short Version, '91-1994 units without external NSS
Symptoms:
Lost or damaged component
Manual shift shafts in GM 4L80-E '91-'94 and all 400 models can become corroded in harsh environments. Corroded manual shift shafts are not suitable for reuse, especially in remanufacturing. The Sonnax direct replacement manual shift shaft kit has been yellow zinc plated to maximize corrosion resistance from road salt and other environmental contaminates. The flange face of the nuts is serrated for better holding capacity.
